Dear friends and family,
This is a message that has been on my heart for a long time. In 2013 I was led by the Spirit to begin leading a fasted life. I came to discover the joys of fasting on a regular basis. Rather than a sacrifice, each fast is a feast of pleasures of a different nature ! I look forward to each one. I wrote this message in June 2015 after ending a powerful fast, one that changed my life.
I hope it touches you.
Love,
Ahava Sarah Fischer
GOOD CHRISTIANS WITH LUST ?
There are many good Christians who have done much for the Lord,
who are precious to Him,
who are mighty for Him …
who still possess unconscious hooks of lust.
In all their goodness….
They are still “hungry” for things of the flesh.
They are still deceived by what is “seen”.
Being moved by the visual is a trait of the spirit of lust.
And this spirit of lust … gains quite a grip when it finds a home.
It is POSSESSIVE.
To say the least.
Even in transformation, amidst an enduring holy life, the spirit of lust secretly maintains it’s grasp.
Crucifying the flesh, does indeed require prayer and fasting.
Fasting is not something to be done once a month or once a year.
Indeed the fasted lifestyle, is one that is a DAILY exercise.
Daily, we crucify the flesh.
Daily, we limit the intake of the desires of the flesh.
Daily we feed our physical bodies under the spirit of discipline.
Daily we watch our tongues, and use it for life, not death.
Daily we seek to be fed by His Word.
Daily, we reject the stimulus, hype, excitement and distractions of the world.
Daily, we seek to only do what He leads us to do.
Daily, we aim to give Him all the Glory.
But the flesh struggles with this race towards the high calling in Christ.
For the flesh is in constant pursuit of pleasure.
It compels satiation…
Like a petulant child, it DEMANDS attention.
Can you limit the “pleasures” you consume?
Why should I do this you say ? Why shouldn’t I enjoy myself?
Well … you have a choice.
You can continue to live in the flesh.
And derive the QUICK, IMMEDIATE pleasures that come in the flesh.
Or you can choose to live in the spirit … where you will soon receive an invitation to Heavenly feasts.
Learning to live in the spirit requires time.
It requires refinement.
But it is infinitely more pleasurable.
You can be fed in the spirit.
And you can experience the glories of the spirit,
Now this is true pleasure….
But the only way you can only experience the delightful pleasures of the spirit … is if you forego the heavy pleasures of the flesh.
One takes time and endurance to arrive at … while the other is instant and easily accessed.
The pleasures of one has the power to transform you, sealing you with the Lord’s DNA, a pleasure that truly nourishes you ….while the heavy, dense pleasure of the other will quickly sedate and simply poison you if practised in excess.
Which will you choose?
Make your decision today.
Do you truly want to live in the spirit ?
Then … crucify the flesh. Completely.
IT WILL FEEL LIKE DEATH.
Have no question about this …
This path appears treacherous.
Your body will ROAR and protest.
ANGER will AWAKE and RAISE it’s scowling head.
Oh every ounce of strength in you will come up with reasons why this is not the time, and why this is not the way.
Well let me tell you this, THIS IS THE TIME. NOW IS THE TIME.
AND CRUCIFYING THE FLESH , IS MOST CERTAINLY THE WAY.
BE STRONG !!!
Let it begin. Your life in the Spirit….
THIS GRAND ADVENTURE.
That is commissioned to the Bold, Committed, Faithful and Courageous Ones.
Be prepared for the Battle that aims to keep you hooked to the flesh.
WE ARE OVERCOMERS IN CHRIST.
VICTORY HAS BEEN DECLARED AND SEALED UPON OUR DESTINY SCROLLS!
We are priests in the Order of Melchizedek, the High Priest.
We are born and designed for a such a time as this.
A SPIRIT-LED LIFE !
There is a world that needs saving, and captives that need setting free.
Make this decision.
With time … and with patient endurance…. we will grow to seek all pleasures and all our needs in the Spirit …
And what GLORIOUS DAY THAT WILL BE FOR ALL OF US!
HALLELUJAH !
Revelation 3:20
‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
