Don’t you love planning and prepping? I do 🙂
In my defence, it’s well-known that writing down clear goals is a large part of gaining success. And this applies to any form of regimen or fast that you may be entering into as well.
Write it down and the vision is clear. Think Habakkuk!
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. ~ Habakkuk 2:2
I find that mapping out my regimen before I begin some form of fast lends me great clarity. And I find I’m more confident about being successful about it too. It helps me remain true to my original aim because everything I hoped to accomplish is detailed right before my eyes.
Oh yes, there’s also the satisfaction of ticking off a checklist. That feels so good!
I thought I might share a regimen that I prepared recently. I hope it’s beneficial to you if you’re feeling led to plan a time of quiet with the Lord.
Here’s a 12 day regimen that I am currently on. I’ve categorized the different areas that I’ll be focusing on.
You’ll notice that in this particular 12 day plan, I have included activities that involve regular work. You see I have certain goals that I need to consistently work on during this time. This may apply to those of you who are working or studying and have responsibilities, but wish to enter into deeper intimacy amidst it all.
That’s absolutely fine, as long as you keep your work schedule manageable & allocate a good amount of time dedicated to studying the Word.
A schedule like this maps out my daily activities, with guideliness to help me stay on course. It streamlines my focus so that I can achieve my ultimate goal. Going deeper in the Lord.
Bear in mind that not every day flows perfectly as planned! 🙂
You may slip a little here and there, but accomplishing the majority of tasks on your schedule is what matters. Well at least that’s the mindset I’ve learned to have.
Get prepared, but don’t get too legalistic about it either 🙂 Here’s my 12 day Protocol, if you want to hop on board with me!
