ELUL is the 6th month of the Jewish calendar
It’s an essential time to turn within and go deep. A time to introspect and allow the Holy Spirit to circumcize our hearts. Searching one’s heart for any means we have gone astray.
After all, this is a month of TESHUVAH, which is the Hebrew word for REPENTANCE. However the meaning of Teshuvah runs deeper. It speaks of RETURNING and REALIGNMENT. That is, returning to Him and to His ways
This season spans 30 days of preparation for holiness and immediately precedes Rosh Hashannah; the Jewish New Year.
Following this we have the High Holy Days or 10 days of AWE. This culminates in YOM KIPPUR otherwise known as THE DAY OF ATONEMENT.
Every season leads up to the festival that Israel has been waiting for. The glorious FEAST OF TABERNACLES otherwise known as SUKKOT. Sukkot is regarded as the most joyful and celebrated festival of the year.
Some Messianic teachers have demonstrated how the Feast of Tabernacles actually points to the true birthday of Jesus! And it’s interesting to see how all the preparation for holiness seems to lead up to this pivotal day of the birth of the Messiah.
* Note: I will be making a future video detailing the scriptures that point to this very well being the case!
Though we are in the New Covenant, bear in mind that Jesus came to fulfill the law and not to abolish it. Which means that we look at the Old Testament with new eyes.
In the study of these feasts you will actually begin to see the fascinating ways in which He fulfills the law.
Grasping the revelation in the ordinances of old is amazing , but they can only be perceived with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Once you begin to study the Old Testament with the mind of Christ you begin to recognize layers of symbolize that are rich with revelation.
The ordinances, the feast days, all the complicated laws and legislations… are actually ripe with prophecy.
And though we are no longer required to follow the law as in the Old Covenant, instead, we can now study and appreciate why God once chose to set these ordinances.
Because EVERYTHING God does is full of wisdom and releases mysteries.
Remember that Jesus comes in the volume of this book. He is in the WHOLE book, the New Testament and the Old Testament. In the New Testament you see him directly.
And in the Old Testament we recognize Him when we have matured in discernment….
Yeshua reveals himself through it all.
Through every festival, every ordinance, every priestly ritual… it all has a deeper meaning that He compels us to catch.
This is the first video in a series that I will be sharing that explores the symbolism of the Biblical Feast Days.
I hope you enjoy it and are blessed by it ! Please subscribe to my Youtube channel and leave me a comment. I would love to hear from you!
