DREAM – ‘It’s not evil to kill the Amalekites at the root.’

This dream came in the early morning of Yom Kippur 2018.

A noble man and his family invited us to visit. They had us stay at a BEAUTIFUL resort looking out at a gorgeous view of blue waters. Oh it was wonderful!

He also showered us generously with gifts. So much so that table in our room spilled over with presents!

Then I began to converse with the man. As we spoke, something unusual happened.

We saw a stream of events and battles, whizzing past our eyes like a white whirlwind.

It was as though entire eras in history flew past us.

I saw men on horses wielding swords and battling furiously.

I kept hearing the name being shouted – The Amalekites!

Then very clearly and deliberately, the nobleman said

“It’s not evil to kill the Amalekites at the root? “

He said this questioningly but I knew what he was doing.

He was provoking me to declare ADAMANTLY that yes it is not evil to kill the Amalekites at the root.

In fact it’s absolutely necessary.✔️

I knew that that’s what he wanted me to say.

Yet a that moment I was hesistant. I wondered, “Am I correct to declare this so vehemently? ”

He gave me a firm look … as if he knew what I was thinking.

The dream ended here.

Later that day ( in real life ) I was studying the Bible.

I was reading the 1st book of Samuel.

Without my realizing or planning it, I found that my daily reading had taken me to a time where God instructs Samuel to tell Saul to abolish the Amalekites and to destroy every trace of them! .

It just happened to be part of my reading that day..

WOW!  It’s amazing how the Lord speaks and ALWAYS follows with a sign and confirmation!

This is the study I came upon that day –

 1 Samuel 15:1/3

1Samuel also said to Saul, “The Lord sent me to anoint you king over His people, over Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt. Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

Upon reading this section, I was left absolutely clear that my initial reaction was correct.

The Lord wanted me to have no doubts about this!

So that’s why the nobleman gave me a firm look in the dream. There can be no hesitation around this matter.

You may be wondering who were the Amalekites ?

Well the Amalekites had a history of brutally attacking and coming against the Israelite people. You will find several mentions of them through the Old Testament. For example, the book of  Exodus as the Israelites left Egypt, we see the Amalekites tormenting them mercilessly. But with the aid of Aaron and Hur, Moses defeats them in a historical battle.

Exodus 17:8/12
8 Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
9And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.”
10 So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

There is also an indication in the Bible that the Amalekites were of strange flesh.

They were not ordinary men, for they were the descendants of Anak, the giants.

Numbers 13:28/29

28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”

So why did God instruct Saul to abolish the Amalekites ?

Because it’s important to weed out corruption right at the root.

King Saul was commanded to abolish everything of the Amalekites including their valuable possessions and livestock. Not a trace of them could remain. Even possessions would bear their mark!

There can be no mixture and no compromise as we serve the Lord.

For a little leaven, leaveneth the whole bread. .

Out of “misguided compassion” and a wrong understanding of grace, believers put up with more than should be allowed.

Wash yourself with the Word and get Salty again! 🙂 .

Kill those Amalekites at the root.

Please note: This is not about physically killing anything. .

We are in a spiritual battle. Killing the Amalekites speaks of addressing the spiritual condition, “killing off”  that which corrupts pure lines.

I would also go on to say that it speaks of getting ride of possessions that may hold a demonic imprint that came from past owner.  Out of a false recognition of value, we hold onto these possessions. Let them go! Be rid of them. The rewards of setting ourself free

Also note: I do remember a thing of beauty amidst the battles passing by…. there was a beautiful white horse amidst the clamor…

Love & Shalom

Deuteronomy 25:19

“Therefore it shall come about when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance to possess,

you shall blot out the memory of Amalek

from under heaven; you must not forget.
