I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people.
Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother,
who is sexually immoral,
or covetous,
or an idolater,
or a reviler,
or a drunkard,
or an extortioner
—not even to eat with such a person.
– 1 Corinthians 5:9/10
His Word reminds us … Keep away from ‘believers’ who live unholy lives. Do not even eat with such people.
– the lustful for eg, those who commit premarital sex, who dress provocatively.
– those who covet , who have worldly ideals & temptations.
– idolaters – those who worship anything or anyone other than the Lord. This includes worshipping self.
– revilers – These are the gossips who speak abusively or contemptuously of others.
– drunkards
– extortioners who aggressively gain money from others.
Now this is a different scenario from ministering to the lost.
When dealing with the adult ‘believer’who has already been exposed to the truth of The Word, they are accountable. They are accountable to make the deliberate decision to turn from sin.
But those who surrender to sin, who are casual about it and accept it as a way of life, are not true believers.
They put to shame what the Lord had to endure on the cross.
If you truly come to walk in the narrow road in Christ, you will give up all worldly friends.
Be alone for awhile.
The Lord will bring righteous friends to you at the right time.
Be patient.
Learn to enjoy passages of time alone basking in His presence.
This will transform you richly.
You will be so fulfilled, that company will not be as necessary as it once was. Quiet moments are a delightful treasure that you yearn for. ♥️
While the Lord will also draw good people into your life.

Amen and glory to God. I have some people who claim to love the Lord but are clearly submitted to some of these sins. I believe the Lord has instructed us to not eat with them as a way to convict them of their willingness to sin and so that the world doesn’t think it is acceptable for believers in Jesus to live a lifestyle of sin. Thank you for this reminder. Please pray for me because I really need to tell someone about their sin before I refuse to eat with them 🙏🏾
