WELLS WITHOUT WATER | False Prophets entertain
How many stood in the office of the prophet in the days of the Old Testament ? Very few.
All who are in Christ can flow in the prophetic. All in the body of Christ can and should share prophetic insights … this sensitivity to signs & seasons should be a normal way of life.
However those declaring themselves as holding the office of a prophet become accountable to the very title that they are claiming.
Often, the prophecies from the modern day false prophet come too fast and furious, almost on a weekly basis.
It’s the microwave generation of “prophets” feeding the masses who want their weekly fix.
Yet a word released from the Lord is a precious treasure. It has many facets to it. It stands the test of time.
Consider Daniel. His prophecy of 70 weeks carries much weight. Rich with meaning, one can keep exploring it while it continues to unravel as history writes itself.
An example of a true prophet whose prophecies are as fulfilling today as they were years ago is Mark Taylor of the Trump Prophecies.
The prophecies released by Mark Taylor are a good example of the Steadfast and Powerful encouragement that comes from the Lord. A Quiet yet Astoundingly Loud Roar that has the ability to resound over time.
I can study an old prophecy of Mark’s from 2016, yet it holds true to so much happening today. In fact, it appears to have even gained strength through the years.
It is hearty, satisfying, and confirms what the Lord shows me directly.
But too many want that “weekly word”, the prophetic round tables, the shows, etc that become their source of refreshment …an empty well promising to ease one’s thirst, yet never really, truly satisfies.
Hence the need for the next weekly dose.
The “weekly prophetic word” becomes an addiction rather than the impetus and inspiration to earnestly seek the Lord directly.
Herein lies the danger….
2 Peter 2:17/19 warns of these wells without water.
Those who put on a performance filled with great swelling words of vanity..
Words designed to bring attention to them,
whilst deterring the body of Christ
from Hiding Themselves
in pursuit of the Lord.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
